The geosocial network
Myopencity (http://www.myopencity.it/) is the "italian way" to 2.0. A complex social environment with media galleries, groups, microblogging and blogging, always geolocalized on a map. The application key of Myopencity is the strict relation between maps and contents: if you move or zoom the map, the page will change contents, showing only the contents related to the map area view. So you can see what's happening in your big town or in your small village. Myopencity provides a news concept of microblogging sistems called Emoczioni: users can gelocalize short messages associated to an emoticon showing feelings and moods, and show them in a Twittervision-like way: http://www.myopencity.it/mocvision.php It's the first geoemotional map, i presume. I think that Myopencity could be an alternative to all the facebook clones, conceived for the italian audience that is a bit different from anglosaxon audience: they always show events, users, moods, blogs on the map, in order to incentivate "real life", giving people motivations to go out, not only a virtual experience. Nice! Facebook clones are boring, i like maps and emoticons: it's lively.
