If you're like me, the last thing you want to do is talk to your ex, but if you have children together that is exactly what you have to do. Before my divorce, we kept family appointments and events on a calendar, which usually hung on the refrigerator or in the laundry room. It usually stayed up to date, and it helped to keep everyone on the same page.

When I was no longer in the home, I was out of the loop on school events, doctor visits, sporting events and the like. The only alternative was talking to the ex constantly. This was
not something I wanted to do even before the divorce.
